Dry Reds

Crimson Cabernet is a rich cabernet with a smooth cherry finish fit for champions. This wine is a fan favorite that will surely be a go-to for any celebration or SEC Saturday. Crimson Cabernet is a thoroughbred, estate red wine at La Famiglia – a base for other wine blends, and a perfect introduction to our lineup of reds.    

Norton is the quintessential American grape. This estate grape makes a dark full rich wine, with hints of dark berry, cloves and coffee. Norton was first cultivated in Virginia in the 1820s and won an award at the Vienna World’s Fair of 1873 as the “best red wine of all nations”. This wine pairs well with smoked meats, wild game, and robust cheese.

Super Texan is a call to the adventurous, with a bold blend of estate grown Texan grapes, Lomanto and Delicatessen. This hardy rodeo ride of a dry red wine has a strong finish with hints of blueberry reminiscent of the Texas prairies. The perfect pairing for this wine is a Texas-sized steak enjoyed under the big, bright, stars at night.  

Professore Zehnder is a fruit-forward wine has notes of dark cherry and blackberry. This grape variety was breed by an Alabamian and La Famiglia is the only winery in world to produce it. In honor of the great breeder Robert Zehnder, it is called  Professore Zehnder. We strive to produce this estate wine with the same rigor and enthusiasm as the creator.

Sasso Rosso is a dry red blend wine, grown in the rich Alabama clay, red stony soil terroir, exudes a distinct character that reflects its unique environment. The deep, earthy flavors of the wine are anchored by the robust clay soil, offering a complex yet smooth experience. Rich notes of dark cherry and ripe plum emerge, accompanied by subtle hints of oak and spice, which harmonize perfectly with the underlying minerality of the sasso rosso (red stone).

Dry Whites

Villard Blanc is an estate wine and one of the “workhorses” in the La Famiglia arsenal. This versatile wine can be enjoyed in any circumstance and any season. When used as a varietal, it is crisp dry wine with a floral nose and notes of grapefruit and lemon. Being a base for many of our blends, Villard Blanc is a great introduction to the La Famiglia lineup.

Dore` is a  hybrid variety with Sauvignon Blanc heritage and characteristic, crisp dry wine with a citrus nose with hints of grapefruit. This estate wine is a perfect porch wine and pairs beautify with food. Recommendations for pairing with fresh crab, raw oysters, shellfish and salmon; holiday dinners, salads, roasted vegetables and cheese (Muenster, Swiss and Gouda). Dore` is a good companion to any charcuterie.

Traminett - The Italian Alps have never felt closer to Alabama thanks to our crisp Traminette wine. This spicy, estate white wine is in traditional alpine fashion to cut through the harshest of winters with a smooth finish that resembles the promise of a soft spring and mountain flowers. This wine is great to enjoy on its own or paired with spicy foods for balance.  

Verdelet - If you like crisp, dry, white wine, look no further. Verdelet is a unique French grape that thrives in the hot, humid Southeast. It is a naturally minerally dry white wine, with a floral nose and notes of pear and yellow apple that will help you beat the heat of even Alabama’s hottest days when served chilled. This estate wine is also the perfect pairing for any kind of seafood – from a clam pasta to a low country boil. It is without question one of the most refreshing white wines you will find on the market.

Chardonel is an estate wine from Chardonnay characteristics. A full body rich complex white wine, with a citrus aroma and hints of green apple and citrus. This wine pairs well with chicken, pasta and cream sauces.

Specialty Sweet Wines

Vigna Colada - Gulf Shores might be six hours from Huntsville, but you can still get a hint of the beach with our “Vigna Colada” wine. This refreshing mirage is made from our classic estate Villard Blanc and transformed through back sweetening with natural coconut and pineapple flavours. It’s as close as you’ll get to the Florida line without sand between your toes!

Black Velvet is smooth southern decadence in a glass! This intensely dark velvety wine made from estate grown, black Texan varieties, is infused with chocolate and aged to transform into a rich dessert wine that will have you and your friends trying to cut a slice right out of the bottle.

Bama Berry - A La Famiglia and Alabamian staple, sweet blackberry wine is synonymous with cicada-serenaded summer nights. Estate harvested from the ripest blackberries on site, the original recipe is amplified by the rouge fresh raspberries, mulberries and aronia berries to provide a fuller fruit of the “Fruit of the Forest” finish.

San Valentino - With San Valentino you can celebrate romance any time of the year. No need to wait until February 14. This estate wine is blend of Professore Zehnder and Villard Blanc. After blending and aging, it is back sweetened and infused with natural chocolate flavour.

Fico (Fig) - Going back hundreds of years in Northern Italy, our family’s vineyards have always been flanked by lush fig trees. While these trees always have accompanied our wines as perfect snacks to pair with our wines, they now are for the first time on the shelves as a protagonist themselves. This sweet and smooth wine provides a golden one-of-a-kind glass and pairs well with fica. Make sure you grab some!

Autunno - After the hot, long summer, autumn is welcomed with our Autunno wine. Autunno is a sweet cran-apple, cranberry wine and perfect for fall days.

Speranza - This unique wine is a blend of estate grown red Texan variety Extra and white Villard Blanc. Speranza is a versatile Rose’ perfect for any brunch or afternoon happy hour. It is a semi-sweet wine, with hints of strawberry, cranberry and pomegranate. Enjoyed chilled on its own or even transformed into a Spritz (see recipe), this wine will surely be one of your go-tos. Its stunning natural pink colour makes it a perfect candidate to spread breast cancer awareness. Five dollars from every bottle of Speranza, which means  “Hope” in Italian, will directly benefit breast cancer. 

Spritzer
1 - bottle wine chilled
2 - cups sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, chilled
lemon slices and fresh mint

Instructions
Combine the bottle of wine and sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, mix and serve over crushed ice, lemon slices and mint. Enjoy!
Note: Sparkling water or soda can be increased to liking.
